Consult local building codes before assembly. This outdoor storage shed must be built on a flat level foundation of wood or concrete (not included). It is designed with a slight indentation in each corner of the floor so that you can drill through the flooring to secure it to the foundation. Anchoring hardware depends on the type of foundation you have and is therefore not included in the shed kit. Not including the installation of the foundation, you can expect assembly of the shed itself to take 2 adults up to 6 hours. Watch our helpful video on How To Build A Lifetime Shed. (Components will vary between different models).

For more information about assembly of our storage sheds, read the Owner's Manual Sample.

8' x 10' Storage Shed (1 window) is rated 4.512195121951219 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Reasonable storage shed I've had my storage shed for a couple years and have mixed feelings. The assembly was not that difficult, but it does take a while. That being said, you should expect building a shed to take a good chunk of time. I like that it came standard with windows and ceiling panels (I had a previous Rubbermaid shed that did not).Shortly after assembling the shed, I was trying to adjust the door handle and it broke. I called Lifetime a couple months later and asked what it would cost to get a replacement. To my surprise, the customer service person said they would be happy to send a replacement handle at no charge (even though it was my fault). That was a refreshing experience. My only negative comment, which is actually a sticking point for me, is the door alignment. I've spent hours trying to manipulate the way the shed sits (on a wood floor) so the doors would line up correctly. Nothing seems to work...at least not permanently. I thought I had it once, but the heat of the summer expanded the plastic and it didn't stay. Also, the metal mechanisms that "lock" the door into place at the top does not stay put. If the wind blows and shakes the door, the metal piece drops and the door becomes loose. It doesn't completely open since it is still latched at the handle, but it's always loose. Maybe the newer sheds have a fix for that, but so far my experience has been a bit frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shed for the money I bought this shed over a year ago. I was able to assemble the shed mostly by myself, needing help from my neighbor when it got time to put the roof on. Took two days, including my constructing a wooden foundation. All the parts were labeled very well and the instructions are clear. I had a small problem with the doors not aligning but my neighbor and I used a jack to lift one side of the shed and placed a couple of additional wood blocks to make it square. No problems with leaking at all. Very well made and maintenance free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shed This was the perfect shed for my lawnmower and garden tools. There is also plenty of room to store lawn furniture during the winter months. It was easy to assemble and has held up great in Oklahoma's windy weather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great storage I have had this shed over a year now. There are definite pros. I love not having to maintain it, and putting it together was fairly easy. It seems sturdy and handles the storage I need it for quite well. One con I experienced is that in high wind situations, some of the roof screws shake loose. So, I often find myself putting one or 2 back in every month or so.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Shed. Overall , happy with construction quality. The manual needs updating. QR codes that link to videos of construction are out of date and all linked to Lifetime website front page. You had to manually type in URL's to view the videos on Youtube. Bags of screws were labeled clearly and usually more screws than actually needed. Two people minimum need to assemble the shed. The walls required quite a bit of force to seat in to the floor. Shed looks good and I am happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to put together I bought it about a month ago, it took 2 of us most of the day to put it together. I seems pretty sturdy. It will serve my purpose of having extra storage space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great investment I bought this shed in August of 2010. It is holding up very well. I live in the north east with cold winters an hot summers. Still no problems. I do rake heavy snow off roof just to be on safe side. The instructions were super, as long as you followed them. You don't want to get ahead of yourself. A neighbor and myself installed it in about a full day. A third person would be an asset. Someone who can just keep track of each instruction. I had skipped a step in haste, and had to back track. But, following them to a tee, made installation quite easy. You definately need a flat surface. I was lucky because I already had a concrete slab where my previous steel shed stood. I added the shutters to the window and it enhanced the appearance of the shed. I would highly recommend this shed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I'd strongly advise having a helper with assembly. I'd also advise you to watch the lifetime product video for step by step assembly. The written directions are not that clear and confusing at times so the video comes in very handy. Pay attention when unpacking because parts are not always in the same box that are needed for the step by step instructions. Other words they are scattered throughout the different boxes. A better packaging or organizing of packaging is needed.

I want to paint my wooden frame the same color as the door.  Can you provide me the paint color code of the door please?

Asked by: Bogoy
Our paint code is not something you will be able to use to match paint color. We would recommend taking one of the smaller parts to use as a color match.
